The EB-3 Unskilled Worker Visa is an immigrant visa for foreign nationals seeking to become lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders) in the United States through a sponsoring U.S. employer.

This visa category is for workers requiring less than two years of training or experience and applies to jobs that do not require advanced skills. Common examples include roles in agriculture, hospitality, construction, and manufacturing.

To begin the process, the employer must first obtain a PERM Labor Certification from the U.S. Department of Labor, confirming that there are no qualified U.S. workers available for the position. Afterward, the employer files Form I-140 (Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker) with USCIS on behalf of the applicant.

Once the I-140 petition is approved, applicants can either apply for Adjustment of Status if they are already in the U.S. or go through consular processing at a U.S. embassy or consulate if living abroad.

After approval, the applicant will receive their Green Card and may later apply for U.S. citizenship if they meet the necessary requirements.

Eligible family members (spouse and unmarried children under 21) can also join the principal applicant, making this visa a valuable pathway for both workers and their families to immigrate to the U.S.
